Page 1 of 4 On the threshold of the Cinematic orchestra concert people asked each other: “Who is going to see a legend?”. Both Moscow and Saint-Petersburg were looking forward to see The Cinematic Orchestra, the artists of the cult English label Ninja Tune and authors of numerous ideal soundtracks. Written music to a great movie «Man with a movie camera» by Dziga Vertov. The Cinematic Orchestra with J. Swinscoe as leader were identified as young classics of new jazz mixed with the broken beat. At their Russian shows the band played not only well-known songs but also new material, the official release of which is set up only for the beginning of March, 2007. A specific revelation was an etude from «Весна священна» by Stravinsky, which in the interpretation of The Cinematic Orchestra was opened from unknown side. A lot of guests of the show (especially the female part of the audience) found Patrick Watson, a new vocalist, the best new addition to the band. His voice referred to numerous musical sources, adding an amazing depth and sensuality to every song.
