Page 1 of 5 Gogol Bordello is an American band which combines several musical styles. It was found in 1999 by Ukrainian emigrant Eugene Hutz in New York. For the most part the musicians come from near-european space: Ukraine, Russia, Israel. They are worldwide famous for their theatrical performances in-between carnival and comedy. Their music takes the impact of the Ukrainian and Russian folk tunes, Carpathian (mostly Ukrainian) and Roumanian music, backed up by accordion and violin (and on several albums even sax) and results as a compound of romance, punk, folk-rock and rock-n-roll, which the authors themselves call “gypsy punk”.
